Dr. Steigerwald received his M.D. from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He then completed both his internship and residency in OB/GYN at St. Louis University. After completing his training he moved to Colorado Springs and joined Associates in OB/GYN in 1994.

Board certified in 1996, Dr. Steigerwald annually renews his certification through the American Board of OB/GYN. As a long standing member of the Colorado Springs medical community he is committed to providing the best care possible. As an OB/GYN this means building long term relationships with his patients, and feels that communication is the key to a successful doctor/ patient relationship. He feels privileged to be a part of some of the most important moments in his patient’s lives. He is also committed to advancing Minimally Invasive Surgical options, both in office and in the hospital setting. His commitment to this has made him well respected as a physician and a surgeon, and has been involved in teaching and training Minimally Invasive Surgeries for many years. Minimally Invasive Surgery is the option everyone should choose because of the obvious benefits of shorter hospital stays, less pain, and quicker return to normal activity.

Dr. Steigerwald and his wife both grew up in Colorado and have two children. When not working they enjoy numerous outdoor activities including golfing, skiing, mountain biking, and spending time with family.
