Put an End to Heavy Bleeding With NovaSure®

Put an End to Heavy Bleeding With NovaSure®

Each month, you steel yourself for the arrival of your period, knowing you’ll be working round the clock to manage your heavy bleeding. And you’re tired of this monthly effort that’s wreaking havoc on your quality of life.

About 1 in 5 women in the United States are in the same boat as you, and many of them have found relief in a one-time NovaSure® endometrial ablation treatment.

At Associates in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Jack Tubbs and our team make every effort to provide our patients with comprehensive women’s health services, including NovaSure, which can put an end to heavy periods, once and for all.

What’s behind your heavy bleeding

Millions of women struggle with heavy bleeding, which is also called menorrhagia. This condition is often qualified as having one or more of the following attributes:

Bear in mind that these attributes can vary and are somewhat subjective — one woman’s version of heavy bleeding may be different from another’s. That said, if your heavy bleeding is having too large an impact on your life, we have a permanent solution in NovaSure.

NovaSure — a one-time treatment for heavy bleeding

By the time many of our patients seek our help for heavy bleeding, they’ve been dealing with the problem for years, which is why NovaSure is such a welcome solution.

NovaSure relies on a technique called endometrial ablation — a procedure that removes the thin layer of tissue that lines your uterus, which is called the endometrium.

It is this tissue that thickens each month during your menstrual cycles and then sheds out, creating your period. By removing the endometrium with NovaSure, we can reduce your bleeding, if not stop it entirely. NovaSure reports that nearly 78% of women experience reduced bleeding or no bleeding within a year of the procedure.

It’s very important that you understand that NovaSure is a one-time procedure that effectively puts an end to your ability to have children afterward.

Undergoing NovaSure

Not only is NovaSure highly effective, we perform the procedure in just minutes. First, we make you comfortable on the table, and then we insert a wand that has a net on the end. Once it’s inside your uterus, the net expands so it covers the inside of your uterus. Then we send a 90-second burst of energy through the wire mesh, and it destroys the endometrium.

After your NovaSure treatment, you can go home, but you should expect some mild cramping, vaginal discharge, and bleeding. These side effects should clear up within a few days. From there, your periods should gradually lighten and even disappear.
